16 Inch Tires Proper Bead to Bead Width

I need to replace the front tires and rims on my TO-30. The tires that are currently on my tractor are 6.00 x 16, I never measured the rim width to know if the rim is 4.00, 4.25 or 4.5” bead to bead width. Will a 6.00 x 16 tire fit on a new 4.00 or 4.50 x 16 rim? I never thought this was this complicated. I currently have wheel weights on the front rims and would like to be able to mount the weights on the new rims.

The original front tire size on your TO-30 was 6:00 x 16. The original tire was a 3 rib Goodyear. I believe the original rim width was 4.00″. The 6.00 x 16 will fit on either a 4.00″, 4.25″ or 4.5″ rim. If replacement rims are purchased you need to check to see that the offset matches so there will be sufficient clearance between the edge of the tire and the drop axle. The original rims on the TO-30 were designed to allow wheel weights to be fitted to them. Those same weights should fit all three rim width as long as the offset is sufficient to provide the proper clearance between the side of the tire and the drop axle.
