Non-Original Paint and Emblems

Robert I’ve just acquired a 1952 Ferguson TO-30. My question is about the hood and paint. It appears to be original paint but is red on the hood and fenders ( grey on motor and trans and axle). It has the correct hood but does not have the Ferguson emblem. Instead has the three triangle Massey Ferguson emblem. I’m not sure what to make of the inconsistencies. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. February 24, 2015.

One thing to keep in mind is many of these old tractors were modernized by dealers when they were traded in. Many TO-20’s and 30’s were painted the color scheme of newer tractors so they would look more modern. Also, it wasn’t difficult to make other upgrades, like a different Ferguson emblrm. Pictures, including engine and instrument panel, can help to identify the tractor.
